The Vocal Fix
Meet Singer/Songwriter and Voice Coach:
Katie Cone is a singer-songwriter and multi instrumentalist originally from Golden, Colorado. She began playing piano at the age of five, and added violin at nine. She became first chair violinist throughout her schooling, played in her church orchestra, and took private lessons. She competed and earned all superior marks in the Colorado State Solo and Ensemble contest with violin. While in high school, she picked up ukulele, guitar, cello, and guitalele. Katie began singing and songwriting throughout high school, and realized how much she enjoyed performing. She began playing and singing at conferences, weddings, church events, and around venues in Denver. She's had the opportunity to perform a half-time show for the Alzheimer's Foundation and National Anthem for the JUCO World Series. Katie was invited to be a contestant on The Voice, but chose to pursue a college degree. She attended the University of Colorado Denver, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music with an Emphasis in Singing and Songwriting. During college, Katie worked at three different music schools along with being an evaluator and contributor for Foxhedge Music City Songstar Awards in Franklin, TN, judging songs for an international songwriting competition.
Realizing a passion for teaching as a senior in high school, she began teaching privately and has been doing so for eight years. She has taught violin, piano, music theory and songwriting classes although her primary has always been voice. Katie has taught students as early as three years of age to adults 70+. As a teacher, she strives in helping students reach their goals by shaping lessons according to each unique individual. She focuses on sight reading, technique, ear training, and musicality. She believes music lessons should pave the way towards confidence in performing, knowing technique, and bettering one’s overall musical knowledge yet also be fun! Katie will be completing voice teacher training and certification in January 2023 from New York Vocal Coaching, studying under Justin Stoney.
When she is not teaching, Katie continues to create music and advance her singer-songwriter career. During college, she was scouted off of an instagram video and started an artist development deal learning the ins and outs of what it takes to make it as a singer-songwriter. She has had the privilege of writing, recording, and working with top songwriters and producers in Nashville, and is currently working on releasing her debut EP "Do You Feel The Same?" under her stage name, Lost Blonde. Her single, "Dreamin' About You" has gained airplay on several radio stations across Colorado and surrounding states reaching top seven power play on KKDG 99.7 FM Top 40 Hits Radio Station. "Dreamin' About You" is one of ISC's (International Songwriting Competition) 2021 winners with honorable mention for the Adult Contemporary category, placing top 1% out of 21,000+ entrants. She was also a top 10 finalist in Bebe Rexha's Songwriting Competition sponsored by Protégé. Her single, "Dreamin' About You" won first place in the Unsigned Only Music Competition, out of 7,000 entrants from 120 different countries. Katie was also a top ten finalist in the 27th USA Songwriting Competition for 2022. She was a top five finalist in the 39th annual Mid-Atlantic Song contest for Pop in 2023.
